6ix9ine was originally facing life in prison on racketeering and firearms charges. After testifying against members of the ‘TreyWay’ gang, 6ix9ine received a lenient sentence. After spending more than a year in prison, he was released and approved to serve his remaining sentence at home.

On May 5th, 6ix9ine took Instagram by storm when he announced that he will be going live on May 8th. When the live went public, the record broke for most people watching the live at one time. This number turned out to be 2 million people.
In the live, 6ix9ine proclaimed himself a snitch and explained further why he choose to snitch on his gang. After being disrespected and manipulated by many people, 6ix9ine didn’t feel comfortable trusting these individuals let allow vouch for them and remain in prison.
As tensions rise, 6ix9ine continues to tease other rappers for snitching as well. On May 15th, the “GOOBA” rapper posted on Instagram calling out the well-known rapper Snoop Dogg “@snoopdogg hey sir let’s chat.” Later he added, “If your in denial the paper work is online and suge knight speaks on it from prison but we choose to ignore who we want to call rats.”
Snoop Dogg retaliated on his Instagram but 6ix9ine then threw shade at Akon and challenged him to a rap battle on IG Live. Akon has accepted the challenge and the world waits for yet another performance from this controversial rapper.
Charity Denies 6ix9ine’s Donation
Earlier this week, 6ix9ine attempted to donate $200,000 to a US children’s charity. This would be a great chance for philanthropy work as donations are smart financial decisions and provide great value to the community.
Although the donation had good intentions, the charity denied 6ix9ines donation and stated that his controversial past and values do no align with the organization. The rapper is having a tough time collaborating with companies due to his reputation.
6ix9ine’s Bio
Daniel Hernandez, also known as 6ix9ine is 23 and was born on May 8th, 1996. He was raised by his parents and older brother until he was 13. Unfortunately for Daniel, his father was shot dead in front of his family home. This tragedy had a lasting effect on Daniel.
Daniel was expelled from school in the 8th grade. He then worked as a bus boy to help support his mother. 6ix9ine also dealt various drugs including heroin. Eventually, he was arrest and they sent him to Rikers Island. Rikers Island is known for violence and he began to associate himself with the Nine Trey Gangsters. There is a book about from the Nine Trey Gangsters here.
6ix9ine then pursued his career as a rapper in 2014. He released songs such as “69” and “Scumlife” and other songs that are now taken down by YouTube. “Gummo” was his most successful song in which was certified platinum.
In 2018, 6ix9ine released his debut mixtape ‘Day69’. This was at number 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart. He continued to release hot singles with Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez and other famous rappers.
6ix9ine’s Future
The path of 6ix9ine is not known to many and we will see what kind of projects are released during his stay-at-home order. One thing is for certain though, and that is that this rapper is not going anywhere, literally.
Many speculate that he will continue to make records but not with other artists. I personally think 6ix9ine will start his own record label and will likely collaborate with other people to make this happen.
Although the community of hip hop is shunning 6ix9ine, the claims that he will die out seems distant now. The rapper is proving everyone wrong and he might not even need the help of others anymore.
