The billion-dollar industry of cosmetics is now welcoming rap star Cardi B. She is making a women-owned beauty business that releases lip gloss, perfumes, and more. She will be joining side by side with the likes of Rihanna and Kylie Jenner. The news came on Thursday, April 22.
TMZ reported that Cardi B’s company filed legal documents to acquire the name “Bardi Beauty”. Her company is called Washpoppin Inc and she uses her real name to sign important documents. Belcalis Almanzar signed for this new company and it shows that there is no stopping Cardi B from making more businesses.
The superstar from New York is looking to make fragrances, cosmetics, nail polish, lip gloss, and more. There are loads of major brands behind Cardi as she enters a new business world. Brands that have worked with Cardi B are Reebok, Fashion Nova, Steve Madden, Pepsi, Lyft, and more.
After being interviewed about her influences, Cardi B says, “When I came to the game and people used to be like, ‘Who do you look up to?’” she said. “I always used to say, ‘I don’t look up to nobody,’ because I didn’t really understand the game and I only feel like I got influenced by the people that was around me.”
She continued, “But now that I’m at the level that I’m at, one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and JAY-Z,” the Grammy Award-winning rapper said. “And I’m not just saying it to kiss ass or anything. I just feel like they’re so influential because Rihanna comes from a country, a Caribbean country, that my parents came from and she’s a whole billionaire and JAY-Z is from the hood and this man’s a whole billionaire. And that’s just all about strategy and that’s just all about shaking hands, that’s just all about putting plans together.”
