Biggie AKA The Notorious B.I.G’s is coming to Netflix! The first documentary to be approved by biggie’s family is produced by Diddy. Netflix is set to reveal the documentary on March 1st, titled Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell. Brooklyn native Voletta Wallace and real estate manager Wayne Barrow are also producers.
Netflix quotes that the hip hop legend project will be “a fresh look at one of the greatest, most influential rappers of all time by those who knew him best.” This film is intended to examine the talents of Biggie and his upbringing. Friends including Damian Butler are featured in which they are childhood buddies.

The director Emmett Malloy comments on how long it took to make the film. “The running joke about documentary films is often how long they take to make (4 years)”. “This film lived up to all those stereotypes, taking us four years to develop and make it. Through those years we were immersed in Brooklyn in the 1970s through the 1990s.”
The documentary also notes on how similar it is to be a black young man in the 70s-90s compared to now. In 2020, Biggie was announced into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. He was shot and killed in 1997 at 24 years old.
