twitter scammer hacks kanye and obama

Last month there was a massive twitter hack that targeted high status names. Names including Kanye West, Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and more. These hackers took control of these accounts and posted a message instructing followers to send $1,000 to a bitcoin address.

It is said that the teenagers stole around $100,000 in bitcoin through this scam. According to TMZ, the hackers were actually teenagers from Florida.

The prominent hacker was 17-year old Graham Ivan Clark, he is now facing 30 felony charges including communications fraud and other charges. He was arresting in Tampa on the 31st.

The method used to hack the accounts was the typical phishing messages. These messages were able to trick some Twitter employees into handing over important information. With this information the hackers were able to convince and trick higher level Twitter employees which then gave them access to high profile accounts.

Two other hackers were arrested in connection to this scam. Mason Sheppard who is 19 and Nima Fazeli who is 22 and from U.K. All 3 have been charged in California but all the charges have not been released.

This is crazy to think about and pretty unsafe. Who knows if our information is really private. What do you guys think?
