Cardi B has expressed reservations about voting for Joe Biden in the 2024 election but she remains staunchly non-Republican.
Back in May, Cardi, who has been supportive of Biden and critical of Trump in the past, declared that she will not be voting for either in the presidential election later this year. Apparently, a fan took that as the rapper turning Republican. When Cardi shared a snippet of a new song on July 1, the fan commented, “She may have betrayed our country and turned Republican but at least she found a nice tune.” Cardi saw the comment and quickly replied, “I will never turn Republican, lol.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Cardi B didn't hold back in expressing her political stance. She voiced her dissatisfaction with both Biden and Trump, stating: “I don’t mess with both of y’all n-ggas.” She also revealed feeling 'layers and layers of disappointment' with Biden's presidency, particularly his lack of care for the people and the belief that there are solutions that are not being pursued despite the immense spending.
Cardi B also didn't shy away from criticizing the U.S. spending on war efforts in Ukraine and Israel. She questioned the prioritization of endless wars over providing assistance to countries that have long been suffering, expressing her deep concern with the lack of action in places where innocent children are being killed.
Cardi shared a preview of a new song on Instagram, and the recording noticeably features her singing in a different style from her usual music. In the video, she sings over a sample from Janet Jackson’s “Funny How Time Flies (When You’re Having Fun)” and some Hip Hop drums. She asked her fans if they liked this new vibe for her upcoming album, which she has indicated will be released in 2024, six years after her debut album.
