In a startling development, the murder case of rapper Julio Foolio has taken a dramatic turn. A masked man has surfaced on social media, claiming that fellow rapper Yungeen Ace paid him $10,000 to carry out the killing.
The man, seen wearing a ski mask and orange beanie in the video, alleges that Foolio was shot and killed on his 26th birthday due to his ongoing feud with Yungeen Ace. "On everything I love, on the dead homies, I put it on everything on my soul, on my kid, n-gga: I'm the one that smacked Julio Foolio that night when he got dropped at his birthday celebration," the unidentified individual declared.
He further alleged that Ace orchestrated the murder, saying, "There was money on his head. I rock with Ace and them boys, ATK. I be in Jacksonville heavy. If you know, you know. I handled that because Ace had that money on his head, Ace had them put that 10K up. Told me to slide, told me to smack Foolio 'cause he got tired of that n-gga running his mouth, playing all the time, you feel me?"
The man expressed no remorse over the killing, stating, "It is what it is, bruh. A n-gga don't give a fuck. About that money, anybody can get it. Foolio had it coming to him so I don't really feel sorry. A lot of people feel that it was on some gang shit. It ain't even really all that. Ace put that bread up and whoever wanted to take it, took it, so I took that. Rest in peace, Foolio."
Police have yet to publicly recognize any suspects in connection with Foolio's murder, which took place outside a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida, on June 23.
The feud between Julio Foolio and Yungeen Ace has been ongoing for years, originating from the 2017 shooting death of Julio's cousin. Yungeen Ace himself was targeted in a retaliatory attack but survived, though his brother and two others were killed in the incident. The rivalry has involved multiple shootings, including the death of Foolio's 16-year-old younger brother, for which rapper Ksoo was later arrested.
In a 2021 interview with HipHopDX, Ace denied any issues with Foolio, stating, "They're just doing that for clout. In my city, every rapper raps about that accident because it's a form of clout. That person you talking about, I don't even know him and have never seen him before in my life, bro. We've never seen each other before, so all that is irrelevant. It just be a clout thing like if he talks about me, he going to win. But if I talk about him, I'm not going to win. It's not going to work like that. I'm not chasing clout or clearing up any rumor because I don't respect lies."
This recent claim adds another layer of complexity to an already convoluted and tragic series of events. Authorities are resuming their investigation into the murder of Julio Foolio, with the latest allegations potentially providing new leads.
