Bandman Kevo 15 Year Old Son Shot and Killed

April 1, 2024

Chicago rapper Bandman Kevo is mourning the loss of his 15-year-old son Kevian, who was reportedly shot and killed on Sunday, March 31st. The news comes from a series of tweets and Instagram stories posted by Kevo, where he expressed his grief and appealed to the public for information about the incident.

"Rip Kevian," Kevo wrote on Twitter yesterday, along with several Instagram stories that strongly implied he was referring to his teenage son. In one story, Kevo pleaded for information from the Kalamazoo community in Michigan, writing, "Anybody in Kalamazoo knows anything about my son's death DM me now," accompanied by an emoji depicting a bag of money, suggesting a possible reward.

While details surrounding the shooting are scarce at this time, Kevo's social media posts have sparked an outpouring of condolences and support from fans and fellow musicians.

Kalamazoo Michigan Department Responds

According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, 15-year-old Kevian Rice was shot and killed around 2:00 PM near the intersection of Reed and Rice Streets. Witnesses reported seeing a car fleeing the scene at high speed. The vehicle was later located at a nearby hospital, where two other individuals with gunshot wounds were receiving treatment. News Channel 3 reports that these individuals are expected to recover fully.

"The motive for the shooting appears to be a dispute arising from a Facebook Marketplace transaction," a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety spokesperson stated. " We urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward."

Authorities are asking the public for any information related to the shooting. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Kalamazoo Silent Observer tip line at 269-343-2100, the 'P3Tips' app, or online at http://www.KalamazooSilentObserver.com

This is a developing story, and Support Hip Hop will continue to provide updates as they become available. We offer our deepest condolences to Bandman Kevo and his family during this difficult time.
